METHEXiS
2026
“Methexis” continues my exploration of alternative forms of communication through transcription. Drawing from memories of the sublime connected to specific environments and sensations, I created a set of imaginary plants. Like in “Mahalas”, a previous project of mine, their characteristics are translated into sound and visuals, forming the vocabulary of a visual and sonic language.
The installation develops ideas from “Mahalas” where the garden functioned as a protected space whereas, in “Methexis”, the garden returns in a changed form. Rather than preserving it as a safe space, I use it to question my own need to guide how personal experience is perceived by an audience. Sound and image overlap, creating an environment where communication becomes less controlled. Through this approach, the work questions our perceptions of communication and explores the possibility of interacting beyond rigid forms of “understanding”.
